Media District Court 32-1-28

If you have received a summons to appear in district court in Delaware County, do not panic -- give our offices a call and talk to one of our experienced attorneys, who can guide you through the process and help you prepare for your court date.

District court hearings are common throughout Pennsylvania, because there are several district courts in each county. Your local district court serves a particular group of townships, boroughs, or wards within those particular areas. You can call the Administrative Office for Magisterial District Judges at 610-565-6990 if you do not know which district court you need to attend.

These courts handle only certain kinds of cases -- all other kinds of cases are handled in a different Pennsylvania court system. District courts in Pennsylvania (which are also sometimes referred to as magisterial courts) include: summary criminal offenses, traffic offenses, municipal code violations, landlord tenant disputes, and small civil claims. If you have been arrested or have gotten a citation for any of those kinds of offenses, be sure to contact an attorney as soon as you receive your notice or summons to appear in district court.

Media District Court

Media, Pennsylvania is located in Delaware County, and the district court that serves the area is District Court 32-1-28. This particular court serves the following areas: Media Borough, Swarthmore, and Nether Providence (specifically, wards 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7).

The address of the court is 349 West Baltimore Avenue in Media. The court’s phone number is 610-566-0872, and its fax number is 610-566-2732. This court is presided over by the Honorable Judge Deborah Krull, Esquire. She is responsible for handling all of the proceedings in the court, especially determining whether or not to convict you and what sentence or penalty to impose.

As a result, it is very important that you go into your court hearing prepared and confident. You will want to get in touch with your attorney as soon as possible and discuss what charges you are facing in your court hearing. The most common kinds of charges handled in district court include: certain DUI or DWI cases, speeding, underage drinking, driving without a suspended license, harassment, running red lights or stop signs, shoplifting, loitering, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, or failure to yield.

After you and your attorney determine what you have been charged with, you may then begin to develop a strong defense to present to Judge Krull. A solid defense can be what demonstrates to the judge that you should not have to face the high penalties that can come with these offenses, including fines as high as $300 and time in jail that can go up to 90 days for a first offense or up to 180 days for a repeat offense. These penalties can place an enormous burden on you and the ones you love, so it is certainly in your best interest to work with your attorney on the best way to avoid the full extent of these penalties.

Call our offices right away, so you have plenty of time to prepare before your court date. Our attorneys have handled cases in Pennsylvania district courts for years, and we are ready and willing to help you as well.
